Question: in my upcoming trip to Bali I'll be taking a boat from pelabuhan padangbai to gilli T and a few nights later from gilli air to Nusa penida. I'm wondering if there are ways to reserve the boats online and even if it's advisable to do so vs trying to get the boat there?
Fast boat from Padang Bai to Gili Islands. The best ferry to get from Bali to the Gili Islands is the fast ferry from Padang Bai. It’s one of the quickest ways from the area to the Gili Islands, with the journey generally taking around 1½-2 hours. The journey can sometimes take a little longer depending on the weather and how calm the sea is.
BMKG has announced that waves in South Bali Sea and Southern of Lombok Strait can achieve 2 meter, it means small boat/ferry is not safe. The important thing it is not how many passengers can embark the boat/ferry, but how many meters from the sea level the boat/ferry until the lowest part of the boat/ferry sea water can enter.
I bought a ticket from 12go about 5 days ago and it was legit. It was for Nusa Penida to Gili Air. I didn’t have any issues. When you arrive at your departure harbour just show them the confirmation from 12go. Editing to answer some of your other questions. Arrive like 45 mins before departure. They seem to be on time or a little late.
